Heaven Scent

Roxy

Heaven Scent

It had been a dreadful choice,

but she’d had no voice.

We facing our ultimate test,

to give our darling furry baby rest.

That pleading look in her eyes;

we couldn’t ignore or deny.

She was so tired and weary,

we were despairing and teary.

That dreaded day had come,

this most painful deed was done.

We broken hearted; then next morning,

behold, a scented message came pouring.

as if to say;

‘Don’t fret, mom, I haven’t gone away’

That floral, honey, sweet aroma,

our spirits, were uplifted, sobered.

The fragrance of Jasmine, sensual, exotic,

we have never forgotten it.

Now, each year on the anniversary of Roxy’s passing,

that Jasmine tree blooms, as if ‘ever lasting’

Today, as, I now smell this scent,

I remember that it is, Heavenly sent.

Everlasting

Our hearts were broken on this day, February 16, a year ago, when we lost our beautiful gypsy princess ‘Roxy’

We never really “get over” the loss of our furry babies, but we learn how to better cope with it. There’s not a single day that we haven’t missed you …

Forever in our Hearts.

Forever Love

Roxy’s ancestors were born in Tibet (Dzogchen)

This is the symbolic meaning of ‘Jasmine’ in Buddhism.

‘The Jasmine is not only the symbol of forever love but also one of the Holy flowers of Buddhism’ and means Gift from God (Persia)

in Buddhist histories and cultures, flowers play important roles.  The flower has been used as a simile to describe positive aspects; the flower has been used as a metaphor to explain Buddhist concepts (such as impermanence).

Buddha was said to have remarked on the fragrance of the jasmine.  In the Dhammapada (verse 54 and 55), the Buddha equated the reputation of a virtuous person to be similar to fragrant flowers and the good reputation will spread far and wide.

Jasmine is considered a symbol of affection and eternal love and to honour the dead.

In India Jasmine is used to honour the dead. Many believe that jasmine is symbolic of divine hope and spirituality.

Behind the Scenes

Behind the Scenes

We’ve laughed, gasped, smiled and cried;
looking at life through his cinematic eyes.
We, suspended of our humdrum beliefs,
as iconic instants, of magic he tweaks.

Looking through the mirror, in his eyes,
pursuing sharks, soldiers, aliens and spies.
Steven Spielberg has that dyslexic gift,
he recognises things, that others miss.

A puff of thought, an eye steering trace,
precise tuning in, to plot; lights of space.
Pan over there, ‘Who’s calling out’
tilt down, ‘What this movie is all about’

A point of thought, all images in view,
as each camera angle, is zoomed true.
He’s in their mind, he’s in their soul,
planning directions of scenes to flow.

Spatial awareness, ‘presence’ is his key,
aware of surroundings and their relativity.
Location, distance and personal space,
a master of moods and emotions in face.

The Ghost Whisperer

“It is required of every man’ the ghost returned,
‘That the spirit within him, should walk abroad among his fellow man and travel far and wide and if the spirit goes not forth in life, it is condemned to do so after death’
~ Charles Dickens

THE GHOST WHISPERER
With magical quill, he spelled dreams,
in a dark world, as bleak as it seemed.
In black and sodden, cobbled streets,
raggedy children, shuffled on bare feet.

The smells of neglect and overcrowding,
shadows flicker, loomed, overpowering.
Polluted with poverty, grunge and grime,
the hungry gaze of dull, feverish eyes.

Gusts of wind, rattled on broken panes,
swiping smoke off braziers, fiery flames.
In the smut of Victoria's, industrial era,
many, lived in poverty, scarcity and fear.

The derelict, invisible, trapped bones,
in desolation, the homeless all roamed.
Great Expectations, were to be had,
when he penned the good, in the bad.

A true alchemist, of generous and kind,
wandering about London’s slum’s at night.
The tired bodies slumped against walls,
wrapped in filthy blankets and shawls.

He wrote about each one with humility,
offering hopes from squalor into dignity.
Where their aspirations, could be real,
freed from the aristocrats, pitiless deals.

Ghost hunter, hypnotist, wannabe magician,
with caring heart, penned of epileptic vision.
Bringing joy and benevolence to the sad,
stressing the wrong, in moral evils of bad.

Invoking spirits of past, future and present,
Charles Dickens taught the miserly a lesson.
‘A Christmas Carol’ published for the greedy,
jangled in changes, for charity of the needy.

More than a century after Dickens has gone,
his empathetic, parables are still passed on.
A wordsmith who seized our imagination,
wringing the hearts, of each new generation.

The Origin

Image: Giver of Rainbow Diamond Light

“We walk by faith, not by sight.” -- Paul the Apostle

The Origin
There is a sacred divinity within us all,
a still, small voice of tenderness; calls.
It’s in our ‘hearts, soul and understanding,
our spiritual desires, evermore entrancing.

It’s a longing, we are all yearning to find,
with devout prayer and meditative mind.
It’s in the psyche, the magic, the mystery,
an insightful zone, uplifting to perceive.

The truth is, ‘In’ there, it is not with out,
a silence, you will hear, as it may shout.
In ancient times, it was known as a gift,
whereas today, that seems to contradict?

Originally, known as, sacred and divine,
now known as evil, distorted over time.
What, why, when, where did this change,
into the demonic and dread fully strange.

Hidden in plain sight, the truth is ‘in’ there,
It’s been written in the bible, to be fair.
From Ezeikel, Paul to Teresa of Avila,
their epilepsy gifts were written so clear.

Links with epilepsy and religion hold a key,
so what has changed in our neuro-theology?
Those ghastly myths and misconceptions,
were caused by clueless, secular projections.

Condemnation, is the mistaking of the past,
the knowledge of science, should now hold. Fast.

Soldier of Light

Image: In Underworld

“What you see and what you hear depends a great deal on where you are standing. It also depends on what sort of person you are.” ~ Lewis Carroll

SOLDIER OF LIGHT
She’d,
heard ‘The Voice’ calling out her name,
most thought, ‘that’ was crazy or insane.
Wait! ‘Was the speaker, inside or out?’
that definitive, communion shout.

What if?
‘She’ was like Harriet Tubman or Alice,
would she still have taken that challenge?
Alice, trained in questioning of the hare,
and Harriet guiding her people, to be fair.

‘She’d’ known what had to be done,
that she was to be the chosen one.
A pretty, androgynous sort of chick,
what she did, was groovy and hip.

‘Her’ habit of wearing men’s clothes,
a mortal sin, back then, I suppose.
‘Her’ hairstyle neither feminine or girly,
a neat bob, instead of long and curly.

‘She’ who was courageous and true,
not giving a flick about others views.
‘She' walked a faithful, trusted path,
how inspirational and visionary is that?

‘She’ hadn’t been disturbed or afraid,
believing she had to give, what she gave.
‘She’ a crusader and a soldier of light,
a messenger, motivating and bright,

Some were boggled out of their mind,
yet, following to see, what she’d find.
It was a brutally rigged inquisition,
thereafter, the success of their mission.

It was a shock and revelation to learn,
the clerics called her a ‘witch’ to burn.
She, an exemplar of unshakeable faith,
her courage, meant battles were saved.

Military leader, champion for France,
was it epilepsy, luck or circumstance?
Joan of Arc, a kid, a heroine, a leader,
why did the world not believe in her?

How did she do it, do you know?
perhaps, God DID tell her, so

USING ARTWORK TO UNDERSTAND EPILEPSY

An analysis of van Gogh’s epilepsy and emotionality must not obscure the fact that this great artist also had great strengths (4).

TEMPORAL LOBE EPILEPSY

Neurologist, Dr David Bear had seen Van Gogh’s art as ‘Reflecting philosophical and spiritual questing’

Van Gogh was born with a brain lesion’ and had a genetic predisposition to epilepsy and suffered from seizures which doctors, including Dr. Felix Rey and Dr. Peyron, believed to be caused by temporal lobe epilepsy.

‘In general, people with epileptic activity in the left hemisphere write and people with right brain epileptic activity engage in the visual arts, such as drawing, painting and sculpture’ ~Edith Kaplan (1924-2009), known as the “Mother of Neuropsychology”

~Seized ~ Eve LaPlante

There has been fair agreement among experts about the personality traits observable among patients with epilepsy (192030–33). Vincent’s viscosity was manifest by his intense clinging to people he loved, his persevering on details, and a tendency to debate endlessly and to write excessively.

Hypergraphia is a condition causing one to need to write continuously; and is commonly linked to epilepsy. Some believe that the massive collection of over 800 letters Van Gogh wrote during his lifetime could be attributed to this condition.
