Witch Words

Narrator:

‘What does the word witch mean?’

Me:

Face lights up … ‘Literally speaking’, it is the use of spelling.

WORD WITCHES:

Incorporate witchcraft into their writing and consider morning writing rituals as a form of magic. They usually research their own passions and interests. The Word Witch will very often have their own writing portal in their library, to practice their craft. They don’t always just use the library though. Many enjoy watching earthlings and taking long road trips in nature, as they scribble notes to take back to their sacred hub, to conjure word spells.

OUR SPIRIT. KNOWS
She stood. In contemplation there.
She would. Feel it in the brisk of air.
She could. See beyond stars in sky.
She knew. A change had come nigh.

The light haze. As sun shone through.
Trunks of gums. Shadowing purple hues.
Rough ground. Covered in brown bark.
Humming of insects. Listening in. Hark.

She walked about. Scrubland bush.
Listening deeply. To the seasons hush.
She saw. The Pelicans. Migrating flight.
She saw. Native flora. Sprouting to life.

She saw. The clouds .Were a scudding.
Grass Trees. And Red Banksia. Budding.
She could see. By the flight. Of ants;
*DJERAN’ season. Has come. To her land.

Congratulations to indigenous elder, artist and educator Dr Miriam-Rose Ungunmerr-Baumann for being named the 2021 Senior Australian of the Year.  She has dedicated her life to giving Aboriginal children the skills to navigate western and traditional culture.

‘Dadirri’ is an ancient living practice that supports spiritual well-being. Like the soft underbelly of a crocodile, this is the gentle, quiet, deep spring that is in all of us; where our sense of identity, belonging, purpose and connection is explored, founded and nurtured. As it is in me, it is also in others. It is the Indigenous gift to all Australians’

LEARNING TO FLY

A purple butterfly emerges from her cocoon. The meeting places in her wings symbolise Family, carers, health workers & Community.

Artwork done for Art for Epilepsy Auction 2018. With all proceeds going to the Australian Epilepsy Foundation.

This is one of my memory lane moments… sighs loudly…

How beautiful and kind of  Iluka Art & Design [-o-]  to  donate this stunning Purple Butterfly to Art for Epilepsy  at an Auction in 2018. Where all proceeds went to Epilepsy Action Australia

When I see such generosity, I often wonder,

how much was raised and how their donation helped?

This has reminded me of my favourite Welsh saying:

SELF:

and I knew it was me, because I recognised my voice.

What an amazing Super Moon.

She was a Beauty

I was up at 4am, when she shone through my bedroom window, to wake me up.

So I sat with her.

It’s those special moments when you are wide eyed and just soaking the awe of her brilliance, which reminds me…

For the pleasures of your soles

ME: I’m in a bad mood
HIPPOCRATES: Go for a nice long walk and if you’re still in a bad mood,
go for another walk.

FOR THE PLEASURES OF YOUR SOLES
When the world is chaotic, your mind is in a buzz,
with in an infinite overload of ‘out of the blue’ stuff.
Take your mind, heart, soul and spirit for a walk,
listen out for the exhilarating sounds of nature’s call.

Soul of Mother Earth, to soles of your feet;
Heart to ground, centred in peace.
Heel, then toe, mindfully across terrain,
smell and touch the stability of Earth again.

Let the grass grow under your feet,
heart lifting moments, as senses meet.
Earth and Heart, letters are the same;
they’re just ‘sounded’ out in a different way.

Mindful Walking Explained

Simply apply the core concept of mindfulness to the process of walking. Focus the mind on the movement of walking. This increases the mind-body connection, heightens mindfulness, and boosts our mental well-being.

“The most primitive way of healing the body is by putting bare feet on natural ground,” says US cardiologist Dr Stephen Sinatra. “I call it caveman medicine and I thoroughly recommend it.”

Solvitur ambulando /ˈsɒlvɪtər ˌæmbjʊˈlændoʊ/[1] is a Latin phrase which means “it is solved by walking” and is used to refer to a problem which is solved by a practical experiment. It is often attributed to Saint Augustine.[2]

Wanders of the World?

‘Going for a walk. Because. I want to stay healthy.
Taking a bag of M&M’s because let’s be honest here’

WANDERS OF THE WORLD?
What a wonderful world it would be,
if we could all speak with the trees.
if garden shrubs grew candy sticks
and rain drops gave you a happy fix.

If the moon was twisted with lime,
as the sun’s rays beamed apple pie.
If Earth was coated in milk chocolate
and snow dripped ice cream droplets.

Flowers would bloom in strawberry jelly,
and insects were covered in blue berries.
If grass grew within rainbow sprinkles
and no-one ever got old or wrinkled.

If pink marshmallows fell from the sky,
and no one ever, had a reason to cry.
If spiders webs were woven of candy floss,
and wild flowers grew out of our socks.

If rocks and stones were rose crystals
and life was made so much more simple.
If all people were honest and kind,
and sad thoughts just fell from mind.

There would be no sickness or disease,
and you could just do as you pleased.
Where death just meant, you sat in a chair,
and everyone visited to have chats there.

What a wonderful world this would be,
in your imagination, can you now see?

Fly me to the Moon

The Effects Of Full Moon on ‘Emotions’

In general, the moon is connected to our emotional selves. Many of the full moon effects on human behaviour and emotions are hidden deep within our subconscious. So when the moon is full, it emits energy that greatly affects us all personally as well as collectively.

This Full Moon falls in the sign of Virgo, something which can ring alarm bells for some. While Earth Virgo offers warm and comforting energy, the more unconventional and emotional souls out there can tend to feel overwhelmed by Virgo’s notoriously critical nature. As the energetic peak of the current lunation, tensions will be running high and the undercurrents and themes since the last New Moon will come to the surface. As such, it’s important to be in charge of the energy you choose to invite in during this time. 27.2.2021

The moon’s effects date back to legends and mythology of ancient civilisations.

Lunar phases also influence human emotions, behaviors, and health.

The Staircase to the Moon is a natural phenomenon caused by the rising of a full moon reflecting off the exposed mudflats in Roebuck Bay, Broome, WA at extremely low tide, to create a beautiful optical illusion of a stairway reaching to the moon. This spectacular sight occurs from March through to November.

Who am I?

WHO AM I?
 I am, temporal lobe epilepsy,
 society’s “invisible” disease.
 You won’t know about me,
until, I fall down to my knees.

Many think that, this is a curse,
shunned and turned away in history,
 No ‘understanding’ which is worse.

There are famous people who had this:
 did you know?
 Pythagoras, Socrates, Vincent Van Gogh,
Lewis Carroll, and the lists begin to grow!

My Doctor said: “This can be a ‘blessing,
if you manage; “personality traits carefully’
To all of those, with this ‘sacred disease’

Snow Witch

 SNOW WITCH
Annika is a witchy, sacred girl,
who lives in a twilight world.
 The sight of snow outside,
 can ease her enquiring mind.

There is nothing she loves more,
than a field of fresh snowfall.
 Laying gently on the ground,
 flapping arms and legs around.

Her arms both form her wings,
legs cast her gown as she swings.
 Staring blankly into space,
her face then falls into a daze.

 In her euphoric twilight zone,
she never feels heat or cold.
There is silence in the air,
and she doesn’t have to care.

A stigma came before back in 1494,
when they penned olde witchy laws.
 ‘The Hammer of the Witches’
 branded all, with evil glitches.

 But, epilepsy is her blessing,
 although some think it depressing.
 Staying grounded is her thing,
keeping her emotions in the swing.

Back from her seizure she returns,
to process all that she has learned.

 SNOW WITCH

For all who struggle every day to succeed in a world that does not recognise their gifts and talents, and for those who are walking beside them, please let this be a gentle reminder to be kind and accepting of ALL people.

Bringing epilepsy out of the Shadows

References:

The Sacred Disease

Epilepsy is not a psychological disorder. The brain is made up of billions of nerve cells that communicate through electrical and chemical signals. When there is a sudden excessive electrical discharge that disrupts the normal activity of the nerve cells, a seizure may result.

Seizures cause a change in function or behaviour. A seizure may take many different forms including a blank stare, muscle spasms, uncontrolled movements, altered awareness, odd sensations, or a convulsion.

People with epilepsy have excelled in every area. What follows is a list of people who are responsible for changing civilisation as we know it, all of whom are strongly suspected or known to have had epilepsy. It’s an impressive group.

Hammer of the Witches.

For centuries, it was believed that epilepsy was caused by evil spirits, goblins and demons. Epilepsy was also linked to witchcraft. A handbook from 1494, Malleus Maleficarum (The Hammer of Witches), claims that witches had special characteristics, including epileptic seizures.

A well-known neurologist has claimed that the history of epilepsy can be summarised as 4 000 years of ignorance, apprehension and stigma.

Animal Instincts

tree walk the thoughts from the wild
Image: Thoughts From The Wild

There are desires to be wild, inside of us all,
stop to listen, you will hear their call.
To know your own animal instincts, you must,
before your bones, vanish in to dust.

Learn the folklore, of the survival of the fittest,
or risk feeling insignificant, within society limits.
What about the loss of your own self-esteem?
forgetting to follow your purpose, vision and dreams.

Even if you feel misunderstood, or misaligned,
You are spiritually and physically protected at all times.
Valuable insights, ideas and new teachings come your way,
pay close attention, to what your animal nature, has to say.
