Where were you in October 1992?
to be quite honest, I hadn’t got this cue.
When in her faith, Sinéad took her stand, 
for the molesters of children, in Ireland. 

Why wasn’t the Vatican concerned or ashamed?
of papistry ‘child sex abuse, as was proclaimed.
With her radiant, defiant glare, luminous and true, 
she’d screamed to all, for justice, long overdue.  

Sinéad’s message shrieked in emotion,
as loudly as her own heart and spirit, broken. 
As the pontiff’s photo lay torn upon the floor,
Sinéad was banished, behind corruptions door.

Whats more, the evildoers were shipped out,
to mess with other children, no doubts.
Countless youngsters ruined by ‘Father’s hands, 
all concealed within the Holy ministerial plans.

Consequently, on 11th May 1999,
the guilty were investigated and reviled. 
Whilst the *Taoiseach of Dublin state,
begged forgiveness, it was much too late.

The damage had been done,
as Sinéad’s protest had already sung. 
She, who had been blacklisted and trialed,
as pedophilia lurked, behind diocesan files.

Concealing those child predators names,
Pope John Paul II was distinctly to blame. 
While Sinéad’s wings now fly open and wide,
the fission of silence has broken and cried. 

Now, heartbroken, following her death, 
only now we hear, the profound message she has left.
The priests thought they were beyond reach,
however, God will punish those diocese evil beasts.

On Saturday Night Live, October 3rd 1992  Sinéad  sang the final lyrics of “War”

“Until the ignoble and unhappy regime,

which holds all of us through,

Child-abuse, yeah, child-abuse yeah,

Sub-human bondage has been toppled,

Utterly destroyed,

Everywhere is war.

We know we will win, 

we have confidence in the victory,

of good over “evil” 

On the word *evil* she pulled out the photo of Pope John Paul II and, looking directly into the camera, rips it *asunder* before proclaiming:

“Fight the real enemy!” 

The rich and powerful never forgave her.

She’d, 
heard ‘The Voice’ calling out her name,
most thought, ‘that’ was crazy or insane.
Wait! ‘Was the speaker, inside or out?’
that definitive, communion shout. 

What if?
‘She’ was like Harriet Tubman or Alice,
would she still have taken that challenge?
Alice, trained in questioning of the hare,
and Harriet guiding her people, to be fair.

‘She’d’ known what had to be done,
that she was to be the chosen one.
A pretty, androgynous sort of chick,
what she did, was groovy and hip.

‘Her’ habit of wearing men’s clothes,
a mortal sin, back then, I suppose.
‘Her’ hairstyle neither feminine or girly,
a neat bob, instead of long and curly. 

‘She’ who was courageous and true,
not giving a flick about others views.  
‘She' walked a faithful, trusted path,
how inspirational and visionary is that?

‘She’ hadn’t been disturbed or afraid,
believing she had to give, what she gave.
‘She’ a crusader and a soldier of light, 
a messenger, motivating and bright,

Some were boggled out of their mind,
yet, following to see, what she’d find. 
It was a brutally rigged inquisition, 
thereafter, the success of their mission. 

It was a shock and revelation to learn,
the clerics called her a ‘witch’ to burn. 
She, an exemplar of unshakeable faith,
her courage, meant battles were saved.

Military leader, champion for France,
was it epilepsy, luck or circumstance?
Joan of Arc, a kid, a heroine, a leader,
why did the world not believe in her?  

How did she do it, do you know?

‘Every body wanna be loved’ and there is no-one more loved than our Whoopi, who personifies every feeling, from love, laughter, heartbreak and tears, in her own uproarious  and ballsy style. She tackles the taboo subjects that are usually avoided and is an inspiration to humanity, proving that if you are positive you really can do anything!

IF THE SHOE FITS

Did you know that Whoopi has dyslexia? she began her career as a make up artist in a funeral parlour? Or that her favourite colour isn’t actually purple, its black and that she has a fetish for bizarre shoes. Her best loved movie is the The Lion King’ and her nickname is Da Whoop! Whoopi Goldberg brings so many blessings into all of our lives, but her only daughter, Alex Martin, is her top priority and I double ditto that!

SISTER ACT

The Lord has blessed us with Whoopi, who despite her fame and superstardom, is one of the most really, real people in Hollywood. She has touched our hearts and made us laugh and cry in so many ways.
