Frankenstein: ‘All over’
One of the first horror movies I ever saw, was ‘Frankenstein’. It scared me half to death, I remember having nightmares for years after seeing that.
THE NIGHTMARE AWAKES
‘In her nightmare, Mary saw the hideous phantasm of a man stretched out, and then, on the working of some powerful engine, show signs of life, and stirring with an uneasy, half vital motion. That triggered a creative spark that has captured popular imagination ever since.
“What terrified me will terrify others; and I need only describe the spectre which had haunted my midnight pillow’ ~ Mary Shelley
CHILLING AND DARK
She began writing what she assumed would be a short ghost story. “Perhaps a corpse would be re-animated”, Mary noted, “galvanism.
‘Frightful must it be; for the effect of any human endeavour to mock the stupendous mechanism of the Creator of the world’
