GANESH (Ganesha) is the Hindu God who is known as the remover of all obstacles.

He is known to bring prosperity and good luck.  The chubby, gentle, wise, elephant-headed Ganesh, or Ganesha, is one of Hinduism’s most popular deities. “He” is said to be the Destroyer of Vanity and Selfishness. His message conveying that we should accept others just as they are

Ganesh will always hold a special place in my heart, after visiting Mumbai in India many years ago. At the Hindu Temple of Ganesh, I was invited to participate in their sacred ceremony to receive a Holy blessing. The Brahmin Monks placed a garland of flowers around my neck as they gestured prayer and applied tilak to my forehead. (Tilak is a red vermilion powder). As I bowed with respect, I was handed a parting gift of a sweet Holy Toli treat.  (Ganesh temple Udyan ~ Mumbai)

Typically they aren’t services like you’d see at a church. There
are times during the day when priests will perform rituals and people
gather to watch and receive blessings (often blessed food is given
 out, much like in communion).
